      Family,
      9/30/07

Just received information concerning McKenzie's memorial service. They are planning a Grave-side Service Tuesday 10/2/07 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the Orem Cemetery. This is the same place Aunt Beverly and Kent were buried on that beautiful hillside overlooking the Orem/Provo valley. The address is: 1520 N 800th E, Orem, UT

For those who might be attending, I encourage you to be a little early--there is construction along 8th North and we would hate to have you miss the service.

I would continue to ask that all of us should keep them in our prayers and for those who are close to the temples, to keep them on the prayer rolls. Our hearts go out to the entire Cotant Family, but especially to Andrew and Kim--God Bless You during this difficult time.

Love Uncle Bob & Aunt Helga

      Dearest Family,
      9/27/07

Once more, I'm sorry to be the bearer of sad news, the passing this afternoon of Andrew and Kim Cotant's new born baby McKenzie. (Andrew is Kip & Nancy Cotant's son). This morning I received a telephone call from Kerri Ewing informing me that yesterday afternoon about 4:00 McKenzie was born at the Orem Community Hospital--a big 7lb 14oz baby girl. The baby stopped breathing when the umbilical cord was cut . She was therefore in much distress following her delivery. After her birth and resuscitation, they determined that the baby had injested large amounts of amniotic fluid. As soon as possible, she was transported to Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo where she was resuscitated again. They were told by the doctor that the next 12 hours would determine whether she was going to make it or not. Kim was not able to be with the baby because she was only discharged this morning from the Orem Hospital. The Cotant family met, cried and prayed as they worried about what was to become of little McKenzie during the long hours of the morning. Kerri told me that she was just the most beautiful baby.

Even though every time they moved McKenzie her condition worsened, it was determined that she needed the medical help that was only available at Primary Children's Medical Center. So with the family watching, she was air lifted to Salt Lake City where even after several efforts to resuscitate her along the way, she slipped back into the arms of her Heavenly Father and I'm sure that her great-grandma, Bev, was there to receive her late this afternoon.

Every thing has happened so fast that no plans have been made by the family. The family remains at the hospital as I am on an airplane typing this. I know that there are angels around the Cotant family. Andrew and Kim, I pray that you might feel that comfort and support at this difficult time. Our thoughts go out to McKenzie's great grandfather, Richard, as well as to Kim's grand parents, Kip and Nancy, and the rest of the Cotant family.

I would encourage all of us to keep them in our prayers. They need all of the support and love that we can all give to them.

      Love you guys
