I'm sorry to report that our sweet sister, aunt, wife, mother and friend has returned home to her maker this past evening at 7:15 p.m.
Aunt Beverly, experienced a stroke Friday afternoon upon returning from her hair dresser. She told Kelli that while she was driving home, she became confused as to which lane she should be using but arrived home safely where she felt she would just lay down and rest. Immediately thereafter, Randy, Kelli and family arrived to pickup some clothes for Kips daughter, Abbey, who had been staying with Bev and Dick. When Abbey saw Beverly she realized that she was not doing well and so called to the rest of the family (in the car) who immediately transported her to the Hospital. Bev was in her normal sweet funny mood as they traveled to the hospital expressing grave concern about going to the hospital "because she didn't want her new hair-do to get messed up". Bev remained coherent though with some left-side paralysis and some slurred speech through a battery of tests. During her first CT Scan, a ruptured blood vessel deep within her brain was identified. Later in the evening, she entered a coma while she was undergoing her 2nd CT Scan. This scan showed that the blood was pooling deep inside her head (in an in-operative location) continued and was putting pressure upon the brain. Because she had been taking the "blood thinner--coumadin", the blood was not clotting as desired. Earlier she had began to receive plasma transfusions to facilitate the diluting of the coumadin effects by increasing the density of her blood. Priesthood blessings were given to both her and later Uncle Dick, but without any assurance that she would recover. Even until late into the evening, Bev would respond to voice commands but as time went on, her condition worsened. Early yesterday morning, Saturday, a third CT Scan was taken. Although the pool of blood had been significant the previous evening, it now had expanded to the entire head cavity. Needless to say, the hope of the family was dashed that she would not be able to recover as she had about four years ago when she had the aneurysm during her heart surgery.
All of her children were there by her bedside as she slipped quietly to the other side of the vail into the waiting arms of her parents, her son Kent and her two sisters, Marian and Carman.
