Notes	BIRTH: A record has been identified in the Beerfelden, Germany Lutheran Church records indicating our ancestor may have been "Johan Wilhelm Kumpf," born in 1745. IMMIGRATION: Sailed from Rotterdam, Netherlands and arrived on the ship "Tygrr" at Philadelphia. Oath of Allegiance to the colonies in Berks County, Pennsylvania, 1 Jun 1778. In the transcription of DeLong Reformed Church records (his son, John's, birth record), Wilhelm's name is "Americanized" to William. MIGRATION: It is assumed Wilhelm's family had moved to the Manchester Twp area at or about the summer of 1796, as Wilhelm's son, Heinrich, is mentioned in the Whitsunday festivities at the Christ Lutheran Church at York, yet John nor the other children are mentioned prior to this date. DEATH: It is assumed deathdate was after 14 May 1803 since "Wilhelm Kump" is listed as the sole sponsor of a grandon's (Johannes Kump) baptism at Salem Lutheran Church at Dover Twp, Pennsylvania.

On Nov. 19, 1771 Wilhelm Kumpf arrived at Philadelphia aboard the ship Tyger, George Martin master, having sailed from Rotterdam and last from Cowes on the Isle of Wight. With him came Johann Michel IHRIG from Airlenbach, Johann Lautenschläger and others from the Beerfelden area. They took the customary oath of abjuration at Messrs. Willing & Morris' store in Philadelphia, but their subsequent history has not been studied by us.
