Whereas, Aaron Mendenhall of Caln in the County of Chester in the Province of Pennsylvania, yeoman, son of John Mendenhall of Concord in the same county and Rose Pierson, daughter of Thomas Pierson of the said township of Concord, having declared their intentions of taking each other in marriage before several Monthly Meetings of the people called Quakers in Concord aforesaid and Chichester in the said county according to the good order used amongst them whose proceedings therein after a deliberate consideration thereof (with regard unto the righteous law of God and example of his people recorded in the scripture of truth in that place) were approved by the said Meetings, they appearing clear of all others.
Now these are to certify all whom it may concern that for the full accomplishing of there intentions the sixteenth day of the fourth month called June in the year according to English account, one thousand seven hundred and fifteen, they the said Aaron Mendenhall and Rose Pierson appeared at a public meeting of the aforesaid people and others met together for that purpose at their public meeting house at Concord aforesaid. And in a solemn manner he, the said Aaron Mendenhall, taking the said Rose Pierson by the hand, did openly declare as followeth, Friends by the assistance of God and before this assembly I take this my friend Rose Pierson to be my wife promising to be unto her a faithful and loving husband until death do us separate. And then and there in said assembly the said Rose Pierson did in like manner declare as followeth, Friends in the presence of God and before the assembly with whom I desire to be my witnesses I take him, my friend Aaron Mendenhall, to be my husband promising to be unto him a loving and faithful wife until death separate us. And the said Aaron Mendenhall and Rose Pierson, she according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband as a confirmation therof, did then and there among those present set their hands. And we whose names are hereunto, being present among others at the solemizing of the said marriage in manner aforesaid as witnesses to the same have also subscribed our names the day and year above written.

Be it remembered, that I, Aaron Mendenhall of Caln in the County of Chester, Province of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being of sound disposing mind and memory; do make this my last will and testament in manner following: That is to say; my will is that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid as soon as may be after my decease.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son, Aaron, the sum of £5 current money of Pennsylvania to be paid him in twelve months after my decease.
Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Lydia, £200 current money, £50 to be paid in twelve months after my decease and the remainder after the decease of my wife.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son, James, the sum of 5s.
Item, I give and bequeath to my son, John, the sum of 5.
Item. My will is that my wife shall have the profits of the remaining part of my estate, both real and personal, to be at her own disposing while she remains a widow and after to be sold by executor and the money arriving by such sale to be equally divided between my daughter, Elizabeth, and my daughter, Rose; share and share alike, only Elizabeth is to have the clock. And I do appoint my son-in-law, Caleb Kirk, to be sole executor of this, my last will and testament, revoking all other wills by me made.
In witness whereby I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of the tenth month, one thousand seven hundred and sixty four, 1764.

Signed, sealed and declared by the above named Aaron Mendenhall as his last will and testament in the presence of Thomas Coates, Thos. Stather, Benjamin Davies.
If it should so happen that my said executor should be in my debt at the time of my decease my will is that it shall be reckoned with the rest of my estate.

John Mendenhall by deed of gift granted to his son Aaron Mendenhall on 8 Mar 1709 a tract of 81 acres. On 19 Aug 1710 Aaron Mendenhall, John Mendenhall his father and Esther his wife, his Uncle George Maris, his brother George Mendenhall, his brother John Mendenhall & Susannah his wife confirmed to John Lee 81 acres. Now John Lee & Hannah his wife for £10 grant to Joseph Edge a tract in Concord bounded by Concord street, land of Nathaniel Newlin, John Mendenhall, Jr. & Birmingham road, containing 13 acres. On 20 Mar 1713 Abraham Musgrove, son of Thomas Musgrove of Halifax, county of York in England, clothier, dec., & David Price of Merion in the Welsh Tract in county of Philadelphia & Hannah his wife, late widow of Thomas Musgrove, to Aaron Mendenhall, late of Springfield. Whereas original patent dated 17 & 18 March 1698 granted to Thomas Musgrove & John Brooks 1500 acres. Thomas Musgrove made his will dated 1 Aug 1699 & appointed Hannah his wife, his sole executrix & died invested with the right to 400 acres & a moiety of 1500 acres. On 9 Apr 1703 Hannah purchased a tract lying in Calne bounded by land of Joseph Sikes, Randle Spakemans, David Powell & Phillip Roman containing 500 acres. The 500 acres & another tract were confirmed unto Hannah by the name of Hannah Price, wife of David Price, dated 9 Aug 1703. Now Abraham Musgrove, David Price & Hannah his wife for £85 grant to Aaron Mendenhall 450 acres, bounded by land of Joseph Pikes, David Powell, Phillip Roman & Randle Spakemans. On 4 Nov 1713 John Mendenhall of Concord, yeoman, & Hester his wife, George Mendenhall of Concord, son of John Mendenhall by Elizabeth his first wife, John Mendenhall the younger of Concord, yeoman, & Susannah his wife, the second son of John & Elizabeth, Aaron Mendenhall of Concord, yeoman, third son of John & Elizabeth, & George Maris of Springfield, yeoman, son of George Maris dec., late father of said Elizabeth, to Joseph Gilpen of Birmingham, yeoman. Whereas original aptent dated 27 June 1684 granted to John Mendenhall, father, a tract in Concord bounded by land of Peter Sounder, containing 300 acres, recorded in Philadelphia, Book A, page 336, on 5 Jan 1696. John Mendenhall the father verbally granted to Nicholas Pyle 1 1/4 acres, part of 300 acres. John Mendenhall the father afterwards by 8 Mar 1691 did grant over all his lands lying in Concord to the said George Maris, father, to his use the John Mendenhall the father for his life & after his decease to go to the sons of the Elizabeth, equally divided. If John should live past his sons coming of age it should be lawful for them to settle & plant the land but not disturb the John. After his dec. all to go to his sons as recorded Chester, Book A, page 56. The three sons have all arrived at their full age. Now John Mendenhall & Hester his wife, Aaron Mendenhall & George Maris for £80 grant a tract lying in Concord bounded by land of Nicholas Pyle, Concord Street. Mill road, Birmingham Road, Thomas Martin, John Lee & Nathaniel Newlin containing 150 acres, part of the 300 acres. Signed by Aaron Mendenhall, George Maris, John Mendnenhall & Susannah Mendenhall, John Mendenhall, Esther Mendenhall & George Mendenhall.
